I saw Loggins and Messina twice. Once when they were just starting at the Shaeffer Festival in Central Park. I forget who they opened for. They were a fun band live. The second time that I saw them was at the Capitol Theater in New Jersey about 18 months later. The marvelous Sandy Denny opened for them. L and M had a lot of success and two hit albums since the first time. They seemed bored. I think that there is a short window for many performers when they are harnessing magic and then it vanishes.
