Watched the first 5 episodes. Not something I would let kids watch quite frankly, far to brutal and felt like an excuse for gratuitous violence/gore. Fictionalized mass murder isn't "entertaining" in my book. Not keen on watching the rest.

Definitely not a kids' show.

I wanted to like "Snowpiercer". Jennifer Connelly is one of my favorites. The premise is brilliant but the execution is weak. They seem more interested in style than substance.

I live with many South Koreans here in New Jersey. They worship many aspects of American culture. Like everyone else they pick and choose what they admire. In my opinion, the greatness of American culture is what won the Cold War. It pervades everywhere. John, have you ever heard the many Heavy Metal bands from the Dominican Republic? I only know about them because of a Dominican that I worked with.

You're talking about the "Snowpiercer" television show, which I agree is weak. I'm talking about the movie, which is very good. And nope, never heard any Dominican Republic metal bands.

I had no idea that there was a movie. I'll have to check it out.

Yogi Berra once said " that you can hear a lot by listening". It's true. During the late 1970s I played soccer with a lot of African students studying at Rutgers. The music that they listened to sounded like Bob Marley only in their languages. I never realized his international influence until then. Music seems to break down borders.
