I caught cabs in NYC for decades and never had a crazy cab driver. Lots of guys with turbans but nobody crazy. I do have a favorite crazy cabbie scene in a film. It's in The Big Lebowski. The Dude has had a bad day and when a cab picks him up, "Peaceful Easy Feeling" by the Eagles is on the radio. The Dude asks him to change it but....

John, you missed your chance with the Vegas cabbie. You should have told him that since you got "Fauci's vaccine" that the magnets in it have caused machinery to operate at double speed and consequently you only owe him half of what's on the meter. LOL.

If you're into Outlaw Country may I make 2 recommendations. Of course, Merle, Willie and Waylon but I'll add two more , Steve Earle and Kinky Friedman. Earle is best known for Copperhead Road ( it has 200 million hits on YouTube). His song Someday is relatable to anyone stuck in a small town. Kinky is like you, John, he writes detective stories. His best two might be Greenwich Killing Time and Armadillos and Old Lace. He also writes for Texas Monthly and once ran for Governor of Texas ( he got 12.6% of the vote). In the early 70s he recorded a great album, Sold American. It has a lot of humor that makes a point and has the playing of great musicians like Norman Blake. It's worth a listen.
