not exactly his fault, but...

after waiting HOURS in the sun and heat in Columbus OH in August 1990, i was THISCLOSE to getting Jay Leno to sign my left tit at the American Motorcycle Assoc. museum opening. he eloquently like the end of his pen, leaned in to sign, and BOOM. some ROOD giant bodyguard guy came up and said "sorry lady, Mr. Leno's gotta go." Jay made eye contact with me, shrugged an "sorry" and was hauled off to make his speech.

i might still be a tad traumatized.

Totally love the article about Shatner. He's my hero too. I skimmed through his autobiography and he was pretty honest about having a difficult time having friends. He definitely struggles about certain situations and having relationships but I feel bad for him. If you don't want to interact with him don't interact with him. (I'm not talking to you here John I appreciate your story) I think more about Mr. Takei who constantly bringing it up every time the man's name is mentioned, kind of places himself in the same light in my view. People need to be able to be themselves and not get attacked for it. And Shatner has gotten his share of grief for what I feel is nothing more than a little disconnect which he doesn't seem to understand himself.
